Brilliant Mahjong is published by Brilliant Model Tech LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers our mobile app and website (landing page, download page, replay viewer, and join links). We do not sell your personal information.
- No account required for solo offline play.
- Online 1v1 uses anonymous Firebase sign-in (a device identifier, not your name or email).
- Google Firebase and AdMob power analytics, online play, stability tools, and optional banner ads.
What we collect
On your device
Game progress, settings, and local history stay on your device. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number through gameplay.
Through Google Firebase (app)
- Analytics — feature and screen usage.
- Crashlytics — crash diagnostics.
- Performance — load and timing metrics.
- Remote Config — app version and config fetch (ad frequency, min version, site URLs).
- App Check — signals that requests come from genuine installs.
Online 1v1
Room code, board state, scores, and anonymous player IDs in Firestore. No chat or public profiles.
Shared replays
If you share a replay, we store the run data (level, scores, tiles, moves, theme, outcome). Links are unlisted; anyone with the link can watch. We count views.
Website
Vercel hosts this site and may process aggregated analytics, performance metrics (Core Web Vitals), and server logs (IP address, browser, requested URL). No ad or marketing cookies on the website.
Ads (app only)
After five wins, a small banner may appear on some games via Google AdMob. No interstitial or video ads. On iOS we request non-personalized ads only and do not use the app for cross-app tracking. On Android, AdMob may use the device advertising ID for ad personalization.
Notifications (optional)
Local reminders only (daily play and streak warnings). Scheduled on your device — we do not receive push tokens or notification content.
How we use and share data
We use data to run the game, improve stability, show limited banner ads, measure site traffic, and protect against abuse. We share data only with service providers:
- Google Firebase — analytics, crashes, performance, remote config, auth, Firestore, App Check
- Google AdMob — in-app banner ads
- Vercel — hosting, web analytics, and performance monitoring
See the Google Privacy Policy and Vercel Privacy Policy. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users and our services.
Retention
- Device data — until you uninstall or clear app data.
- Firebase data — per Google's settings and our project configuration.
- Online rooms — may persist after a match until removed or purged.
- Shared replays — until removed or you request deletion.
- Server logs — limited period per our host's practices.
Your choices
- Limit ads personalization in device settings (iOS Apple Advertising; Android Ads).
- Disable notifications in system settings.
- Play offline without online or sharing features.
- Email info@thebmtech.com to request deletion of data we control (e.g. a shared replay).
Where applicable (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws), you may have additional rights. We respond within legally required timeframes.
Other
Children. General audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe otherwise.
Security. We use encryption in transit, access controls, and App Check on sensitive APIs. No system is perfectly secure.
International. We operate from the United States. Data may be processed in the US and other countries where our providers operate.
Changes. We may update this policy on this page from time to time.
